По мнению научного журнала JISSN, самая эффективная на сегодняшний день пищевая добавка с точки зрения набора мышечной массы и увеличения выносливости во время интенсивных тренировок - креатина моногидрат. Многочисленные исследования показали, что включение ее в рацион во время тренировок позволяет увеличить мышечную массу и силу.[1] Прибавка мышц в группе, принимающей креатин, обычно на 1 – 2,5 кг больше, чем в контрольной группе, после 4-12 недель силовых тренировок.[2] Такой рост мышечной массы обусловлен повышением выносливости спортсменов. Это позволяет им выполнять больший объем работы на тренировках, что напрямую отражается на гипертрофии мышц.[3][4][5][6]

Единственный побочный эффект, который может возникнуть на фоне приема креатина моногидрата – склонность к набору веса.[7][8][9] Несмотря на то, что высказывались определенные опасения по поводу безопасности,[10][11] последние исследования опровергли данные предположения.[12][13] Также было обнаружено, что креатин моногидрат может снижать частоту травм во время тренировок.[14][15][16] Кроме того, недавно был опубликован обзор, в котором были детально рассмотрены все мифы и беспочвенные опасения.[17]
